If you read about or investigate the paranormal for a hobby, you probably have come across the story of the Amityville Horror, where a family in Amityville, New York spent twenty-eight horrific days in one of the most infamous haunted houses in the world.

The house, which is located at 108 Ocean Ave (formerly 112 Ocean Ave before the gawkers and tourists became too much to bear after the original film’s release in the late seventies and the street number was changed), also was where Ronald Defeo murdered six of his family members while they slept in November 1974.

Later the Warrens would come in to investigate the house in 1976, leading to one of the most chilling and controversial ‘real’ ghost photographs of all time, The Amityville Ghost Boy.

There is another photograph connected to the ever growing and confusing Amityville legend that has never really been brought to light.

It is said to have been taken in 1922 in the house that stood on the same property on which the Dutch Colonial the Defeos and Lutzes both lived in later stood.

And the figure within the captured image was claimed to be conjured during a seance no less…

‘Bud’ Grabbing Ghosts?

ghost weed pipe scary haunted halloween thc marijuana

I started this site for many reasons….to inform, to educate and because I get news items in my feeds about a ghost that seems intent on stealing some buds of quality marijuana.

See what I mean, where else can you get to write sentences like that one without being high yourself?

Yet that is what one grower of the infamous green leafed plant claims happened recently in his greenhouse.

Haunting Tales: Ghost of Larrabee St. (Tallman’s Ghost)

tallmann ghost house creepy wisconisn larabee street haunting

Considering that our last Haunting Tale came from one of the ghost segments of the show Unsolved Mysteries, I was hesitant to use another case that was so popular from the show.

That was before I ran into the video segment online for the Tallman’s Ghost case, which covered the story of Debbie and Allen Tallman, who thought they had found a perfect house for their family on Larrabee Street in Horicon, Wisconsin.

However, just months after moving in, the entire family was chased from the home by what seemed to be a poltergeist type of haunting that some say bordered on the demonic.

Others say that Debbie and Allen Tallman were out of their depth when buying the house, and made the story up to escape a house they could not afford.

So what did reside in the house on Larrabee Street? Was it a cold demonic force, a pesky poltergeist or the results of mistaking the normal for the extra ordinary or even fraud?

Haunting Tales: Texas Poltergeist Ranch

The Haunted Texas Ranch House

The first of many Haunting Tales comes from an old Unsolved Mysteries episode from the late nineties.

It tells the story of a apparent Poltergeist type haunting in the brush lands of Texas at the Three Partners Ranch, a three thousand acre piece of land in Central Texas. There, a very loud spirit would bang on the walls and pound across the floor as it stalked the halls of the ranch three men had bought as a business venture.

Pub Going Ghost Smokes/Pinches Bottoms

pub ghosts queens arms pinch grop

When you think about ghosts you usually think about cliche manifestations such as cold spots, phantom footsteps and unearthly voices.

But how about a ghost that would rather smoke and pinch bottoms then rattle chains and open doors?

The Queens Arms pub, in the Jewellery Quarter of Birmingham, has just this sort of spectral patron.

Ghostly Pics: The Raynham Hall Ghost

This is another relatively infamous ghost photo which was taken at Raynham Hall in Norfolk in 1936. It was taken by two photographers for Country Life magazine, which made its name highlighting the pleasures of living in the country and used photographs of various stately homes as evidence of this. According to the story, the two journalists were doing just such a photo shoot when they saw the ghost descending the stairs and quickly took this photograph.

Amityville Murders: The US Gov Did It!

murders-crime-scene

As anyone who has ever looked into the history and circumstances of the real life Amityville Horror can attest to, the subject certainly has it’s fair share of debates and differing opinion. Whether it is a debate about how many gunman killed the DeFeo family to whether the whole Lutz story was a hoax, there are small areas of the internet where this is debated fiercely on message boards…

Of course, when you bring the internet into any paranormal debate, it also means you get your cranks and nutters, be it by design or by someone being a troll, they come in all shapes and sizes.

Off the wall theory’s are also their specialty as well, and the Amityville story pulls in some doozys, from Indian Chiefs to pictures of the devil himself to linking the whole affair to the music of Pink Floyd, there are some big fish tales out in the water behind Ocean Ave.

One of these is a gentleman who showed up at the Amityville Truth Board some time ago, with a desire to share his ‘fictional’ story about how the US Government was responsible for the murder of the DeFeo family, and involves the Italian Mob and futuristic weapons.

Demolition Men Find Ghost

Is This The Ghost Of Frances Grimshaw?

By Thomas Spychalski

It is said that ghosts and spirits will cling to the places they once lived, be it because they are trapped there or these are the only ‘homes’ that they feel they can go to and feel safe.

It is not surprising then, to hear that a demolition crew in Kendal, Cumbria had a run in with the ghost of a woman who used to run the boarding house they were there to knock down, even getting the spooky ghost photo at the top of this article which appears to show the blurred form of a woman peering out from the half destroyed structure.

Amityville: Gun Found-New Evidence?

By Thomas Spychalski

The Amityville Horror is a one of the most famous haunting cases ever to be recorded, mostly due to the fact that the haunting itself was the subject of a bestselling book, The Amityville Horror by Jay Anson, which was followed by the 1979 film of the same name. The house itself, as it looked at the start of all the hype, with it’s ‘eye’ windows on the third floor and it’s ominous exterior, was the perfect prop for a ghost story.
